Recognizing the difficulty of transmitting knowledge to a learner, and recording this learning over time is a complex exercise. However, the simplicity and relevance of Didask's pedagogical approach convinced the Apside teams, who decided to embark on the adventure... We reveal everything to you, through an inspiring webinar !

The beginning of the adventure between Apside and Didask

With a keen interest in cognitive psychology and educational practices based on brain function, Apside, a digital services company, selected Didask, the solution for designing online learning experiences. Apside wanted to design and deploy auto-formative modules for its digital transformation project, called Academy by Apside, to achieve a goal: to become a long-term learning organization, with 3000 consultants on board.

The Academy by Apside project offers various services to Group employees in connection with training, the aim being to enable all teams to develop in their respective professions. Recently, the Apside group made the choice to offer this type of services externally to its prospects and customers.

Why use Didask?

For 2 years, the Apside group has been experimenting with certain monitoring tools as part of the Academy by Apside project, in order to differentiate learning methods and the user experience in order to optimize e-learning training. Add to this the appetite for the field of science and cognitive psychology, which is of great interest to Mikaël Desnos, Digital Manager at Apside. That's why Apside approached Didask:

  • creation of an e-learning course to raise awareness of good remote working practices followed by nearly 1500 employees. Managing your autonomy, workload and personal organization were among the exercises and themes addressed through the various digital modules.
  • creation of a distance learning course, focused on the presentation of an employee to customers, in connection with the field of activity of the Apside company.

As Camille Guilbaud, digital educational engineer at Apside explains,” the idea was to create exercises by formulating specific questions in which the learner could potentially make mistakes. Care should also be taken to ensure that the correct answer is not too obvious or easy to find. Thanks to the Didask pedagogy, based on the relevant error, the learner receives appropriate feedback in order to be able to adopt good practice.”

What are the advantages and particularities of the Didask solution?

Inspired by the results of research in cognitive sciences, the Didask solution offers an online learning format that allows you to effectively transmit your expertise.

With simulation exercises, learners are immersed in concrete situations that reproduce the environment close to their daily life and in which they need to mobilize one or more skills or knowledge. Mickaël and Camille came back to the particularities of the learning format offered by the Didask solution as well as its many advantages.

  • The granular approach of the Didask solution : Didask modules are based on a short format, lasting about fifteen minutes including 4 to 8 practical cases with plausible dilemmas and choices that put the learner in an active learning situation. Each scenario is associated with explanatory feedback and a key message to remember. These practical cases deliver a key message, concerning the behavior to adopt or the information to remember. Information is presented in a gradual manner, which relieves learners' cognitive load. Assimilation is all the more effective if they have the opportunity to practice in the face of concrete cases.
  • The importance of personalized feedback : learners position themselves in relation to the situations they encounter and make certain choices. Based on these choices, they are offered synthetic and personalized feedback. It is very relevant to let learners practice and test themselves in relation to a concrete case. Through explanatory or informative feedback, they obtain progress indicators to arrive at the appropriate choice, whether it is a practice to change, a received idea to modify, or even knowledge to put into practice.

Camille shares her impressions with us and explains to us in concrete terms what creating exercises using Didask's authoring tool consists of:” We will be able to describe the situation and we will be able to stage it using speech bubbles. A list of characters each with a different expression has been integrated, as well as visuals. (...) What is interesting is having the choice to create the scenario directly from the tool. You can also integrate audio and record a voiceover. It allows you to offer a multitude of things and it is built very quickly!

  • Error-based learning : as Mickaël recalls, e-learning design is a real “intellectual gymnastics”, even when you are used to doing it. Indeed, it is necessary to be able to formulate the relevant error and to think about the right situation, which will lead to sufficiently plausible answer proposals. In this way, the learner will provide the necessary effort of reflection and will potentially make mistakes that generally occur spontaneously and intuitively and that will generate learning.

Accompanied by the Didask team, Apside gained not only precious time, but also the keys to develop skills and navigate independently in a very fluid way. Thanks to the design tool, Apside was able to diversify the types of learning offered to its teams in order to mobilize the motivation and commitment of everyone.
